It's not at all uncommon to meet a person who doesn't understand why they can't lose weight, and curses the fact that while they eat all the right things, their weight hangs around the barrier of "few pounds overweight." They're going to tell you all this and wonder what they're doing wrong, and in the next few moments they're going to take a gulp out of a can of soda, a glass of beer or something like that, and admit that it's their third of the day or night.
Now, maintaining a healthy diet while continuing to enjoy the occasional glass of wine or soda may is far from impossible. It is not unthinkable either to stop drinking these things completely, but it is not compulsory. It's important to remember, however, that weight gain or weight loss problems can sometimes be down to what you drink as well as what you eat. You 're not going to have a healthy weight if you drink a bottle of wine a day or get a family-sized bottle of soda.
If you have to have a drink with food, then the best option is often a glass of water. There are more reasons for this than just the matter of weight. A glass of water keeps you from getting thirsty and helps you enjoy your meal, but it doesn't interfere with your taste. And if you're thirsty, a glass of water is the best thing you can drink – it replenishes the body's hydration levels and allows you to enjoy the occasional glass of wine or soda, because you get to really savor the taste.
